Went shopping with Aaron today - came home with loads of plants and a packet of seeds. Actually, seeds so rarely grow into adult plants for me, I don't know why I even bother with them. Got a pot of pennywort-looking thing (Hydrocortle leucocephala), a hanging plant with gigantic flowers, a maidenhair's fern and a pot of african violets. Oh yes, and we bought cut flowers too! Got a huge bouquet of roses (15 stems I think) for $2, and 2 bunches of fresh live lavender at $2 a bunch. One's hanging in the car right now and looks pretty odd.

Just vased up the cut flowers, a bunch of 5 roses in mom's room and made a flower arrangement for the dining room using 5 roses and 5 lavenders. 2 more roses in my room, and the other 3 were thrown away .. they were soggy and brown. Well, for $2 ... hahahahaha. Good satisfaction. If only I had more vases, I could cheaply give everyone at home a fright. Right now not even Maria's at home, so I was thinking ... buy 150 roses for $20 - weird lurid colours like bright pink and deep reds and purples, and put them all over the living room. They'll think I'm off my rocker.

Aaron got this really bright magenta hyacinth cut bunch, and a huge chunk of trumpet lilies at $5 a bunch! Really a steal eh. I have no idea why he didn't like the asiatic lilies, they definitely smell a lot better.

Looking at my african violet now, the leaves are addictive. They feel like teddybear's fur.
